QUESTION:

SOLVE THE ROOTS OF QUADRATIC EQUATION.

 {x}^{2}  + 19x + 60 = 0

ANSWER:

GIVEN EQUATION IS IN THERE FORM OF

a {x}^{2}  + bx + c.

STEP 1.

WE HAVE TO SPLIT THE MIDDLE TERM ON SUCH A WAY THAT IT'S SUM IS b ie.19 and product is a.c which is 1×60.

 {x}^{2}  + 15x + 4x + 60

so. 15+4= 19

15×4 = 60

STEP 2.

NOW WE TAKE THE COMMON FACTOR.

 {x}^{2}  + 15x + 4x + 60 \\ x(x + 15) + 4(x + 15)

SO THE FACTORS ARE:

(x + 4)(x + 15)

x =-4.

x =-15.

FINAL ANSWER:

-4 AND -15
