First of all I would like to say what is deforestation :-

Deforestation is the reckless cutting down of trees in order to remove the vegetation cover and bring more land under cultivation .
Our country ,in fact the whole world is facing the problem of deforestation due to increasing industrialization ,urbanization and population.

To prevent deforestation literacy is very important .But in places where literacy is absent the following steps should be taken:-

I) The Government should send people to educate those people and who are illeterate so that they can understand the steps taken to prevent deforestation.

ii) Special care should be taken to educate the children because they are the future and pillars of our country.

III) Practical demonstration should be done so that at least the people can see and understand what is to be done.

iv) The people should be encouraged and employed in the works related to forestry.

v) My organising rallies and messages through radios

vi) By organising theatres In their villages.

⏩One such example is Bahuguna's Chipko Movement where the women of Reni saved the trees at the cost of their own lives.
