Answer:

2min 50 sec

Step-by-step explanation:

5min 10sec -2min 20sec

min sec

5 10

-2 20

_____________

2 50

here we can't subtract 20 from10 so we we would take 1 min (60sec)from 5 min so it would be (10+60)sec - 20sec = 50

Given :

  • 2 min 20 sec ......(i)
  • 5 min 10 sec .......(ii)

To find :

  • the subtration

Solution :

The easiest way :-

Convert the following equation to sec

(∵ 1 min = 60 sec)

= 2 min 20 sec

= (2 × 60) + 20 sec

= 120 + 20 sec

= 140 sec

= 5 min 10 sec

= (5 × 60) + 10 sec

= 300 + 10 sec

= 310 sec

Now,

We will subtract

= 310 - 140 sec

= 170 sec

Now convert sec to min

= 170 sec

= 170/60 min

= 2 min 50 sec
