Hola Mahika ,

Upper elements in reactivity series are Sodium ( Na ) , Potassium ( K ) , Calcium ( Ca ) ......

These all are ♦ Very Reactive ♦. They cannot be obtained from their compounds by heating.

These metals can only be obtained by ★ Electrolytic Reduction ★.

Example :-

sodium, magnesium and Calcium obtained by electrolysis of their molten chlorides.

Metals like Sodium, magnesium calcium are deposited at the cathode and chlorine is liberated at the anode.

Example with equation :-

at \: cathode \: \: \: \: Na {}^{ + } + {e}^{ - } = = > Na \:

at \: anode \: \: \: \: 2Cl {}^{ - } = = &gt; Cl_{2} \: + 2 {e}^{ - } <br />

Note :-

These Highly reactive metals cannot be obtained by heating with carbon because these metals have more affinity for oxygen than carbon.

Hope you will Understand ♥
