how to take out valency ?

▶▶First we need to find the electronic configuration of the element thereafter we have to see the number of electrons in the outermost shell and ( no of electrons in outermost shell = Valency )

▶▶If the no of electrons in the outermost shell is 1,2 ,3, and 4 then Valency will also be 1 , 2 . 3 . 4

▶▶but if the valency is 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 the valency will be ( 8-5 = 3 ) or ( 8 - 6 ) or ( 8 - 1 )
