The way to speak faster is to practice saying phrases, rather than individual words.
I prefer to use the TPRS method for this, which I use in my Success with Storiesprogram for English learners. The most powerful part of the program for learning to speak quickly and automatically is the Question and Answer lesson.
Recording your voice is good as well.
I would choose a person as a model, someone who speaks the way you want to speak. Listen to that person say phrases and then record yourself trying to sound exactly like that person. Listen to both recordings to compare and then adjust as needed.
Speaking quickly has to do with phrasing and intonation, the rhythm of the language, so work on that, rather than pronunciation of individual words.

This is a question I have been asking myself. I find these exercises particularly useful.
Recording your voice
Recording your voice is an excellent way of checking your pronunciation. Often, what you think how you sound is different from how you actually sound. The good news is that you can actually pick up a lot of words you mispronounce by yourself. And it's completely free.
Practising phrases instead for words
When you say "get" and "it" separately, it sounds differently from when you say "get it" all together (depending on the accent). Knowing how English sounds when they speak fast is very important. You can use any material to practice this: film, music, radio, TV etc. Listen carefully to each sentence and copy exactly how they say it.
