how to teach ratio to the students
Answers
Answer:
ratio is just like a divide of two two numbers or characters we can divide and the simplest form is is called the ratio of them
Answer: step by step
Like, firstly tell them the need to learn ratios.
Then tell them the meaning of how to use it
Like it can be used to specify the amount of water in milk, etc.
Tell them that the ratios can be simplified just like division.
this can be used in everyday ;life, try to relate it to everyday life, then they would understand it better.
the only thing that the students fear from mathematics is the books, try to get them out of this fear. The only way is to attach the ,mathematics to daily life.
I remember my class IV teacher.
I Am telling you the example to understand it better.
He once taught us the formula of calculating area.
yes, that simple L*B= AREA.
For, a rectangle, of course.
Then, you know what happened?
He took us to the ground and told top measure its length and breadth, using a long lengthy measuring tape like thing.
Then we found the length and breadth respectively, collectively, it was such a nice moment.
Now, he told us to calculate the area of the ground, we did, some of us made silly mistake still :) including me:)
we children often make silly calculation mistakes, and in 3 or 4th class, the concept of area and perimeter was new to us, so this was the best way of teaching something.
I also remember another day, when he taught us perimeter and area of circle .
He again took us to ground, Made a circle with us, I mean he told us to sil in circle.
then said that we were the perimeter of circle, And then told some students to run inside aimlessly, randomly.
Then he told that the student covering the region inside our self-made circle shape was called the area of circle.
this was just an example, refreshed my memory, answered yopur question.
What you need in teaching student any subject is to take them a bit out of the book at max possible.
relate the things to real world
Because that's how human mind is made.
It understand the things more better when it feels it.
You will also know that all the great mathematicians, physicists, etc. were so much lost in their thoughts that they used to feel it in their hearts.
Einstein is a nice example, he never conducted a single experiment in his life, all was just complex equations, seems boring?
nope.
The joy, and the feeling of experiencing something like Einstein did is also very blissful.
4-dimension, Black holes,etc.
These are the things that need powerful imagination skills. And in order to achieve this, the students should be made to think this way from early time.
It just don't help in academics, its an universal thing- the more the will power, thinking(fast), the easily you tackle the problems of your filed.
...
At last, try the students to teach the students to love the subject, to feel it, from deep inside the heart.
If they will run for just marks- then it's their biggest mistake.
Love for something (of course, outside academics also like in your favorite)
is the only thing that will keep you going... keep you going towards your goal
