Now, when Sulphur dioxide gas is evolved....
1. We get a suffocating smell of burning sulphur.
2. Sulphur dioxide bleaches substances because it is a good reducing agent.
3. Sulphur dioxide turns lime water milky.
4. When SO2 gas is bubbled through potassium permanganate solution, the colour of the solution changes from pink to colourless.
5. When SO2 gas is bubbled through acidified potassium dichromate solution, the colour of the solution changes from orange to green.
6. When SO2 gas is bubbled through bromine water, its colour changes from brown to colourless..
Hope this helps...
Thanks .!
