How to test starch in food

first boil the leaf in alcohol so that it looses its pigments and turns to pale in colour then add few drops of iodine solution if it turns to dark blue or black it contains starch.

Through Iodine test, u can detect that whether a food contains starch or not..... U can get the whole experiment in the class-6/7 the science book... U can check..
