How to verify the relationship between the zeros and the coefficient if the given polynomial is 5x^2-8x-4

I got the zeros -2/5 and 2

As you have already told, the zeroes are -2/5 and 2.

Now,

Sum of roots= -2/5+2= 8/5= -(-8)/5= -b/a (proved)

Product of roots= -2/5*2= -4/5= c/a(proved)

Answer:

let the zero be A and B

Step-by-step explanation:

for verification;

A=-2/5 and B=2

so,sum of zeros=-b/a=A+B

                         =-(-8)/5=-2/5+2

                         =8/5=-2+10/5

                         =8/5=8/5

hence sum of zeros are equal;

next product of zeros=c/a=AB

                                   =-4/5=-2/5*2

                                   =-4/5=-4/5

hence product of zeros are equal

; hence verified
