First thing is ,you must be good at that particular language.
Well, if you were asked to write a letter, analyse the topic first, try to collect some points and then start.
Similarly, if its a diary entry/ story writing/ essay......try understanding the topic.
Use catchy words/phrases to make it more interesting.
Read letters, diary entries, stories (minimum 1 a day ) by this, you can easily write anything, as you might be having ideas and can score full marks.
One main thing which is must..... is confidence. What ever you write, be confident about it.
"Practice makes a man perfect"
I would conclude by saying that do practice, practice and more practice!
