Dear Sir/Madam,
With due respect, I would like to inform you that I could not attend the school as I am down due to the viral infection . I caught the infection yesterday evening and have been feeling very weak.
As per the doctor, I need to take bed rest for at least 6 days. In the circumstances, I hope that you would be kind enough to permit me to grant me leave for a week.
I have also attached the medical certificate confirming the need of time to recover from the illness.
