how to write application to bank managers for join the cif number in one account
Answers
Please understand the CIF or customer information file is created only once at the time of opening of an account, and it is not related to the branch but to the bank as an entity; hence there would not be any need for transferring the cif from branch to another;
However due some queer business process, SBI has set the rule as under:
- If the customer has more than one account at the transferor branch, and he/she selects to transfer only one or some of the accounts (but not all), he/she has to decide where he/she wants the CIF to be kept.
- In other cases, i.e. where the customer has only one account or where he/she selects to transfer all his accounts, the CIF must be mandatorily transferred to the new Branch.
Though, thankfully, I do not have any account with SBI, I was curious when I received your query; on verification I observed that SBI is working on the premise of ‘debit account branch’ — like the base branch; It appears that the bank allows you to open multiple sb accounts in multiple branches; this necessitates the account holder to choose an account branch called as “debit account branch”, which will be the base branch for all his operations.
