there are two rules to write any electronic configuration of an element

1. the formula which is given by buhr and bury scheme is

2 {n}^{2}


Where n is the number of shell or energy level
for example for shell 1 there is 2*1*1 =1

2. last number of shell accommodate only 8 electrons it does not matter the last shell has the capacity to take more than 8 electrons .it contains only 8 electrons in the last shell
note the last number of shell contains less than 8 electrons but not more than this
