Answer:In the largest democracy like India in the world, National Voters' Day was being observed in view of the declining trend regarding voting. The purpose of the Election Commission was to identify all eligible voters whose age would have turned 18 on January 1 every year in all polling booth areas across the country. In this connection, the names of new voters 18 years of age or older will be entered in the voter list and they will be given election photo identity cards. The work of distributing identity cards will be done by social, educational and non-political persons. On this occasion, a badge will be given to the voters, in which the slogan will be inscribed with the logo 'Proud to be a voter, ready to vote'.
The Election Commission of India will celebrate the 7th National Voters' Day on 25 January this time across the country. 'National Voters' Day was launched by the then President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil on 25 January 2011, on the 61st founding year of the Election Commission established since 1950. The two major themes of this event were 'Inclusive and Qualitative Participation' and 'No Voter to be left behing'.
