There are mainly two types of parenchyma. They are :

1. Clorenchyma

Some parenchymatous cells have chloroplasts in them for performing photosynthesis.

So such parenchymatous cells containing chloroplasts in them are called clorenchyma.

2. Arenchyma

Such parenchyma is found in plants which are present in water known as hydrophytes.

This tissue provides buoyancy to the plant to keep the hydrophytes floating on water.
