how u can test that starch is present in the leaves ?

Take a beaker and fill it with water.
insert a test tube in containing methalated spirit and put a leaf in it.Heat the beaker gently for some time.

Take the leaf out and put it in a petridish and pour a few drops of iodin solution on it.
We can observe that the leaf turns to blue-black colour.

this is the way how to test the present of starch in leaves.
