The ultrasonic vibrations reflected by different parts of organs of the body help a doctor to make an image of the organs. These images further help the doctor detect any abnormality in the organ. Doctors also use this technique to detect the development of the unborn baby inside the mother's womb during pregnancy. This technique is called ultrasonography and the technique when used for heart is termed for termed as echocardiography.
