Union Government is also known as central government. Indian government works with the help of Parliament and central cabinet that is under leadership of Prime Minister who prepares the development programs of the government. He introduces them in both houses of Parliament for the approval. After that, the bills will send to President for the final signature and after his signature they will becomes as orders. This bill introduces only in Lok Sabha. As we know that the maximum number of Loksabha members cannot exceed more than 552 in which 530 members elected from various states, 20 members elected from union territory. So, President has right to select 12 members based on their services towards science, arts, social service and literature. So,this is right way in which Union Government works. In India the central government is called the union government as it governs the union of states and union territories. The government is formed after elections are held by the central election commission, representatives from their constituencies are elected by the citizens to the Lok sabha and then the members elect their leader as the prime minister. Prime minister forms a cabinet of ministers with cabinet and state ranks.
The ministers head various portfolios and the departments in the ministries administer the country through a large network of bureaucracy. That consists of Indian Administrative service officials and government employees. They are spread over the entire country and all districts and mandals.
The cabinet and the prime minister prepare bills for new laws or for budgets or for services related to people, and present them in the parliament houses. After these bills are voted by the members and approved in the parliament with some amendments as suggested, they are sent to the President of India for approval. The speaker of the houses conduct the proceedings of the houses.
Once, the President signs the bill, it becomes an official order or act, it becomes a law or a scheme which is implemented. If the President seeks clarifications, they are given and the bill is sent again for signature.
Government prepares these bills depending on the need of people and after listening to the party members and other party members in the parliament. The union government recommends and the President appoints governors for various states, Judges of Supreme court and central election commissioner.
The Supreme court can , in certain matters, advise the government to make new laws, change some practices or to introduce certain procedures, which seem necessary for justice. Then the government takes into account the recommendations of the Supreme Court to prepare new bills. The judiciary and the police officials help in the implementation of law and order.
Thus the cabinet, prime minister, president, parliament, judiciary, police service, and the government employees are part of the government functioning.
