Answer:

leguminous plants play an important role in nitrogen fixation or providing nitrogen content to the soil, the plants like peas or any other plant which has a covering and we eat the beans inside of them have a bacteria on their roots named rhizobium, now here exchange is done. the plants provide food to the bacteria and in return the bacteria converts atmospheric nitrogen to the ammonia ( organic nitrogenous compound ) then the ammonia is consumed by the plant and the content in the soil is also replenished so the other crops fulfil their need of nitrogen.
