No. The way to takht-e-tous has always gone through dead bodies of princes. A few additional facts which though you did not ask for:
1. Humayun blinded his brother Kamran and eliminated Askari and Hindal
2. Jahangir blinded his son Khusro.
3. Shahjahan killed his brothers Parvez and Shahrayar, and killed blind Khusro alongwith his young son Dawar Baksh.
