• Babur is the founder of the great Mughal Empire in 1526 after defeating Ibrahim Khan Lodi in the first battle of Panipat.
• After the death of Babur in 1530, his eldest son Humayun became the next emperor.
• But Babur suggested to follow Mongolian custom of dividing empire among the brothers.
• As per his father's suggestion, Humayun divided the empire as follows:
>> Babur ruled the central part of Mughal Empire.
>> Kabul and Kandahar regions were was given to Kamran
>> Sambhal region was given to Askari.
>> Mewat region was given to Hindal.
In this way, the Empire of Babur/ Mughal empire was divided.
Note: All the other three brothers of Humayun were his half brothers.
