It was created at the time of partition between india and Pakistan. The number of Muslims in that region was more than the Hindus so it was decided that ,the particular part should be given to Pakistan. that is why it was called east Pakistan. As it was not easy to travel so long distance of oceans for pakistan to East Pakistan. So they demanded a route from between the India.but it was refused. So east Pakistan form it's own new nation called Bangladesh.
