Scheilden and Schwann postulated the cell theory, according to which all living organisms are consisted of cells.

Virchow added that cells are produced from pre-existing cells.

Theodore Schwann - Discovered all animals have cells- after studying animals cells, he cam to the conclusion that every animals is made up of cell.

Matthias Schleiden - Discovered all plants have cells- from his years of studying different plant species, it dawned on him that every plant is made up of cell.

These scientist were stocked in one conclusion that every cell is made up of pre-existing cells. (Rudolf Virchow joined)

Rudolf Virchow - cells did come from other cells. (Told that cell is made up of pre-existing cells)
