How was India brought under reign of England ?

The Britishers came to India with the intention of just business & trade.But later on,they expanded their rules & territories.They were given permission to erect business centre at Surat by Badshah Jahangir in 1615AD.They'd come to India in 1600AD.As Mughal empire began to show signs of decline after death of Badshah aurangzeb,intra-dynasty conflicts resulted in decline of Mughal rule & beginning of British era.In Punjab,after death of RanjitSingh Maharaj,British entered there also.As a result,British entered in Indian politics.
