How was invention of wheels an important step towards progress for early humans ?

Before wheels were invented,man had difficulties in transporting the material he required from on place to another.He had to torture animals such as donkeys and let them carry the total load.After the invention of wheel,man could easily transport the materials with the help of bullokcarts .Even it became for the animals to pull the load than carrying it.Wheel helped man for the production of pots.So we can say that the invention of wheel helped early man to move a step forward to become more civilized.
