It is observed that it is developed with ‘shrungar bhakti’ of vaishnav comunity. The famous kathak artists named Pandit Shri Birju Maharaj, Sitara Devi, Kumudini Lakhia etc. kept this dance style alive and developed as one of the most popular dance form of north India.
