These words were like a thunderclap tho little Franz. He referred for not learning his lessons properly, insted seeking the birds eggs, sliding on the saar etc... He felt like like his books, which seemed to be a nuisance a while ago, were his friends. He was also sad that he shall not see M.Hamel again that he was going away. This made him forget all about his ruler and how cranky he was.
