During the french revolution, the national assembly ,which existed from June13,1789 to July 9was a revolutionary assembly revolutionary assembly of Third Estate of the Estates-General thereafter . It was known as National Constitute Assembly though the popularly shorter form persident .

National Assembly was recognized by following ways-:
1) Louis XVI faced with the power of french people's revolting subjects, who finally accorded recognition to the National Assembly and accepted the principle that his powers would from now on be checked by a constitution.
2) On the night of 4th August, 1789,the assembly passed a decree abolishing the feudal system of obligations and taxes.
3) Members of the clergy too were forced to give up their privileges.
4) Tithes were abolished and lands owned by the Church were confiscated.
5) As a result ,the government acquired assets worth at least 2 billion livres .
