For the empowerment of womens the most commendable activity undertaken by the bank is forming several women self help groups. The Bank has undertaken many guidance seminars about different small scale ventures for these self help groups. And has provided monetary assistance thus making millions of womens self sufficient and proud.
A SHG is a group of about 20 people from a homogeneous class, who come together for addressing their common problems.SHGs promote small savings among their members. The savings are kept withthe bank. The bank loans are given without any collateral and at market interest rates.
Mere saving is not the objective of SHG , But SHG should learn the skill of utilizing collected saving fund And keeping proper accounting of the same in order to create self confidence among themselves,  such self confidence would lead to economic progress of SHG’s. It would create group strength. NABARD knows the fact and insists SHG scheme upon RDCC Bank purposely.
Financial weak women should come together fog saving purpose. Their mere saving should become saving fund. The most needy women should get loan amount at negligible rate and should try to become self sufficient. The women in the group should discuss their problem with each other and ideas of every member should be shared with each other, it’s the basic idea for formation of SHG’s.
SHG’s are not only formed to save or to get loans but also it compels the rural women and Adivasi women to inculcate the saving habit.
The following are the Rules, conditions and guiding matters of SHG’s.

6.   The amount to be deposited monthly should equal to all and affordable to all.
7.    Every member should handover the saving amount to the chief of the group up to 5th-6th date of every month and the chief supposed to deposit it up to 10th of that month.
8.    After three or six months the group should start according to the needs of the members, only the members are eligible to get loan, No outsider is allowed to get loan. The rate of interest on the member loan should be fixed by getting approval of all members.
