Satidaha or sati was a hindu tradition in Indian history. It was the practice of a widowed woman commiting suicide on the funeral of her husband. The woman would simply burn in the fire along wirh her husband or would commit suicide after some days after the funeral of her husband. Soon afte, the laws made it illegal for sati to happen. But still today many women in India practice sati.
