In human beings , 23 pairs of chromosomes are found.

22 of them are autosomes and one pair is known as sex chromosomes.

A man has one x and one y chromosome and a woman has a pair of x chromosomes as sex chromosomes. If x chromosome from man and x from women is fused, the zygote will be xx and a baby girl is born and if y from man and x from women are fused then the zygote will be xy and the baby boy is born.
