In 1658, Shahjahan fell ill and was confined by his son and successor Aurangzeb in Agra Fort until his death in 1666. Actually , Shah Jahan was not killed by anybody. Towards the end of his life , he was forcefully imprisioned by Aurangazeb , his second youngest son.
