Explanation: Swaminathan solution to his worry.
- A huge number of protestors had gathered on 15th August 1930 in Malgudi.
- They were protesting against the arrest of a renowned political worker of Bombay, Mr Gauri Sankar.
- The lecturer addresses the people of Malgudi by asking them to boycott Manchester and Lancashire cloths.
- The main reason for such a boycott was to teach a lesson to the owners of the mills who were involved in the incident which involved chopping off the thumbs of Dacca muslin weavers.
- Swami had thrown his cap into the patriotic bonfire as a mark to support the boycotting foreign clothes.
- The very next moment he was worried what we would be wearing to the school .
- He was also wary of asking his father for a new one.
- When he reached school he found a large number of boys standing right in front of the premises.
- He however ignored the crowd and reached the school gate.
- He was stopped by a stranger who informed him about the school being closed.
- This helped Swami in solving his problem as he did not have to attend school without the cap.
Hope this helps.
