On 15 April 1944, Peter van Daan forgot to unbolt the front door and Mr. Kugler’s workers had to break the window from Keg’s side, to get inside the warehouse.

The people from Keg saw the broken window, which worried Anne and others. Mr. Kugler was also very angry with the whole situation. Peter was very upset and it upset Anne’s mother too, to see Peter upset! It worried everyone that people from outside would get suspicious about the broken window.
