Themodern periodic table is based on the atomic number and not on the atomic mass. The isotopes have same atomic number. Hence, the two isotopes of chlorine will be placed in the same slot of the periodic table.

Hope this helps u

The anomalies regarding the positioning of the isotopes of chlorine was overcome in the modern periodic table.

Since the table is arranged in increasing atomic number , the isotopes have same atomic no. And chemical properties, so they are put at the same place in the same group.

This is the answer.

Hope it helps.
