The civil disobedience movement sought to paralyze the government by breaking a specific set of rules and administration.

Civil Disobedience movement was different from Mon cooperation movement in several ways. Civil disobedience included breaking if law while non corporation only included dissatisfaction. In civil disobedience movement, forest laws were also broken while in non cooperation no forest laws were broken. Civil disobedience movement included Muslim population in a smaller proportion while in Non cooperation it did in a huge extent. Civil disobedience was called off due to Gandhi Irwin pact while non cooperation movement was called off due to Chauri Chaura incident.
