Answer:

France was a full-fledged territorial state in 1789 under the rule of an absolute monarch.

The political and constitutional changes that came in the wake of the French Revolution led to the transfer of sovereignty from monarchy to a body of French citizens.

The revolution proclaimed that it was the people who would henceforth constitute the nation and shape its destiny.

Answer:

During French Revolution, the king of France was Louis XVI. He was made king at very young age. So, he did not knew how to rule a country. He thought that he is the king, so he can do anything. In his rule, his soldiers took more taxes from the common people on his orders. The common people were very disappointed by their king's behaviour. But one day, when their tolerance and anger increased too much. A large crowd of people entered the court of king to take revenge. When the king ordered his soldiers to shoot the people, his soldiers dropped their guns because they are also of the category of common people. After this, the king had to leave his crown. This was the starting of rise of nationalism in France.
