The dancing girl escaped the punishment by blaming it on the goldsmith saying that she had given some gold to the goldsmith to make some jewellery but he kept making excuses and thus made her walk up and down to his house a dozen times. The goldsmith, however, blamed the rich merchant saying that he had to finish his order first because rich men are impatient. In this way the blame came to the rich merchant and making the dancing girl and the goldsmith able to escape the punishment.
