How was the diary helpful to Anne ?

Anne Frank felt that in the annex there was no one she could share her details
with as well as she needed a patient person to listen to her at any time. Due to this on her 13 th birthday her father, Mr. Otto Frank bought her a gift of diary as present to make her wish come true.

The major purposes which the diary served was :
1. Served as a companion throughout her time in the Secret Annex
2. As a trustworthy person whom she could share her personal details such        as her menstrual cycle, love towards opposite gender,etc.
3. It also served her a thing of attraction as well as a thing by which she can      procrastinate her time by chatting. Therefore she gave a name to her              diary as Kitty.
