Answer:

Three themes were highlighted: “Public Event: ‘Fatness’ vs. Pregnancy”, “Control: Nature vs. Self”, and “Role: Woman vs. Mother”. Women perceived the pregnant body to be out of their control and as transgressing the socially constructed ideal, against which they tried to protect their body image satisfaction. Women perceived the physical manifestation of the mothering role as incongruent to their other roles as a wife or partner, or working woman

Mrs Pearson's personality exhibited a number of changes post the exchange in personality. She became domineering in attitude, assertive and vocal when it came to presenting her opinion. The first thing she does after the exchange is light up a cigarette and lay out cards on the table. This shocked Doris because it was uncharacteristic of Mrs Pearson to do so. She adopts a cool and incisive manner of speaking and states the truth with unflinching candour. She does not refrain from an argument, cuts people short if she finds them speaking nonsense and also puts people in their place for stepping out of line. Her manner of speaking seemed to be aggressive and quite the opposite of the original Mrs Pearson who was docile and diminutive.

Hope it's help you?!!
