Answer:

The French Society was divided into three Estates. These Estates were a group of people who had a similar profession. This system was somewhat similar to the Indian Caste System where one group was suppressed but unlike the Caste System, there was no specific class of people doing menial work. The three Estates were Clergy, Nobility and the third was related to farming and business activities. Only the people of third estate had to pay taxes to the state while the Clergy and Nobility enjoyed privileges. The Church was was mostly instructed by the Clergy who exploited peasants who were members of third estate by a type of taxes called Tithes. The burden to regulate the economy of France was only on the Third Estate. In short, Clergy instructed religious activities, Nobles ruled the state while the demands of Clergy and Nobles were fulfilled by the third estate.
