How was the french society organised before the revolution?

Before the French revolution, the French society was classified into 3 estates

1st estate clergy (the Imp people of church) 2nd estate nobles (people belong to kings)

3rd estate rest of the other people (middle class and low class)

The 1st and 2nd estate people (clergy and noble) need not to pay tax to the government whereas 3rd estate people had to pay a lot of tax.

thus, French society was divided before the revolution.
