1. In mahalwari settlement revenue was collected by village head and deposited to British government and accounted to conduct in 19% of India. Founded by Lord Cornwallis in 1793.
2. In permanent settlement revenue was collected directly from zamindar of all group of village and accounted to conduct in 32% of India. Founded by holt Mackenzie in 1832.
3. In royotwari settlement was collected from royts there was no middle man as ijadar or zamindar . Founded by Thomas Munro in middle of 18th century in madras presidency.
