All the village elders were sitting at the back benches to thank M.Hamel for his kind service.
It was the last day when french was taught in Alsace , because a order had came from Berlin that next day onwards German would be taught in the schools of Alsace and Lorraine. A new teacher would come and taught German to the students.
M. Hamel was changed completely that day he was not using his ruler , even he didn't scold Franz for not revising the test on participles.
M. Hamel begin saying - French language is the most beautiful and clear language in the world. But now they would not be able to learn this beautiful language. Then he started writing on board as big as he could write " long live France". Then , the class was dismissed.
