●) Khadi clothes were often more expensive than produced mill cloth and the poor people could not afford to buy it as they can't boycott mills for too long
●) the setup of alternative Indian Institutions slowed up , hence there were no institution that could be used in place of the British ones

. as a result student and teacher trickling back to government school and lawyers joined back the government schools

2. lawyers left their legal practices , teachers and other govt. officials resigned.

3. council elections were boycotted by the provinces.

4' merchants and traders refuced to trade with foreign goods.

5. foreign clothes were burnt and everyone was asked to wear khadi.
