The French Society was divided into 3 estates.The members of the first two estates,that is, the clergy and the nobility,enjoyed certain privileges by birth. The most important of these was exemption from paying taxes to the state.Peasants, belonging to the third estates made up of 90% of population.

The third estates is further divided into three groups

* rich people, lawyers ,merchants

* farmers and artisions

* labours, servant, small pesents

60% of the land was owned by the Nobel the members of first 2 estates clergy and Nobel enjoyed as they did not pay tax

Whereas the 3rd the estate is the one and only who payed all the tax

It was easy for the rich people lawyers ect. The farmers and artisions found it a bit difficult to pay taxes as they were not sure if there productive is good enough. But the once who had a lot of problem were the labours landless farmers servants ect it was difficult for them to stomach the the payment of tax
