The members of the first two estates that are the clergy and nobility enjoyed certain privileges by birth. The nobles further enjoyed feudal privileges.The third estate comprised
big businessman, merchants, court officials, lawyers, peasants and artisans, Small peasants, landless labourers and servants etc. Peasants were 90% population with very low few owners of land. Only the members of third estate paid taxes.
