How was the US government pressurised to negotiate an end to the war in vietnam ?

a. The inability of the US to crush the resistance by the Vietnamese and its failure to attain its objective to seek support of the Vietnam people for its action proved to be a major development towards ending the war.

b. Large scale loss of life by US soldiers and Vietnam civilians further contributed in ending the war.

c. Excessive criticism of the US action in media paved the way for negotiations to end the war.

d. Finally ,in January 1974 a peace settlement was entered into with the US in Paris which ended the war.

e. On 30th April 1975, The NLF occupied the presidential palace in Saigon to end the conflict between the NLF and the Saigon regime , which ultimately led to the unification of Vietnam.
