Islam creation can bee seen as a very drastic christian reformation, in fact its first while the one pionnered by Luther is only the second. Both are a return to what they characterized as a more original faith along the biblical root. Both are like ancient judaism, iconoclastic. Islam is more drastic in the sense that it return to pure monotheism while the lutherian and other form will maintain the trinitarian but will downplay the popular cult of Mary and of the saints. The original Islam did like christianity, gradually adopt various cults of saints. The Wahabi is a fundamentalist reform for a banishment to all these cults. This movement was encouraged by the british in their plan to conquer the middle east against the Turk and so they fuel this Wahabi movement. And as in the old days, the Saudis are still under the protectorat of the US which is the inheritor of the british empire.
